KB: Marlena was my favourite character on the show, but the first thing they told me when I joined DAYS was: “Do not write for Deidre!” They were trying to force Hall out by not airing her. It was a several-year program to fade Marlena out. They theorized, if the audience only saw Marlena once or twice a month, the audience wouldn’t care when DAYS axed her. It devastated me because Marlena was the character I most wanted to write for. I wanted to have her involved dramatically with Sami and Belle, along with her own big storyline. Instead, they had Belle talk to Lexie for advice, which I found just silly! But Deidre also had it in her contract that she was not to be called “grandmother” or “gran,” which made it difficult. She was the star of the show — make no mistake. When the ratings went down, DAYS used Marlena and John to boost the ratings like they did with John’s car crash.
What the fuck.. I wouldn't have cared if I saw her once a year, I still wouldn't have wanted her gone. If this is true, it's pathetic.

TVG: What do you think of DAYS’s recent ratings woes? KB: I think they are making a huge mistake by focusing the show around EJ and Sami. Don’t get me wrong: I think Sami is a great character but it was Nicole who brought DAYS to the top of the ratings last year. Ari Zucker is a phenomenal actress, especially when Nicole drove the show. Fans really get into Nicole when she’s a bitch. But no matter how hard they try, Sami will never be Marlena. [Sighs] It’ll never work. Sami should be half-evil and half-good, not a heroine. I like Alison Sweeney but she’s not Deidre Hall. I think Ari is more of a star than Ali. But, as you know, there are politics behind the show. Other than that, I think it’s smart that they brought Suzanne Rogers back to the fore as Maggie.
WOW. She KILLED AS. ITA with her on this.

TVG: There are rumours that Dena Higley doesn’t head-write the show. Do you have any insight? KB: No, not really. I wouldn’t be surprised, though. Heck — people’s husbands write the show! Who knows? That happened with Lynn Marie Latham at Y&R, too. You can never trust the credit roll in daytime! Sometimes an executive wrote an entire week of a soap. When you see a really bad week that doesn’t make sense it’s because an executive wrote it. That happened a lot at P&G … You see, they want quick ratings with quick fixes instead of building momentum in a storyline and rooting plot in character. It’s sad because you make incredible dough as a soap writer. The money was the best part. [Laughs] I sometimes made $15,000 a month just giving them ideas as a consultant.
That's not what you said a few months ago. You claimed Dena had full control. Or was that Kenny pretending to be you :hmmph:

Eileen Davidson was willing to come back to DAYS, but NBC never contacted her. I was only going to ask her back to tape for two days; we were going to splice her into five episodes. We couldn’t get Eileen back long term, but we could for a couple of days. Then when [Y&R fired her], we could have brought her back but they never did because I wasn’t there anymore. This doesn't match up with what Kola said back in March...
- Quote:
-
"The actress who played Kristen/Susan, "Eileen" something was FREE to come back to DAYS & they didn't want her back. I was begging for it." How was Kola begging to bring Eileen back after she was "FREE" from Y&R when LML didn't fire her until late 2006/early 2007? Kola had been given the boot from Days by that point.
As for the story she had written for Eileen/Kristen, this is what she shared back in March...
- Quote:
-
"Kristen was basically going to return as "CatWoman", face covered in a Cat-Suit and reign holy havok on Salem for a few weeks as "revealed leader" of the submarine--working for E.J.---and then be "unmasked" at a party by Marlena before she could jump from the penthouse balcony in her catsuit.
She was going to be in a sexy skin-tight CatSuit and reign havok on Salem like that for about a month.... until MARLENA grabbed her making an escape on the penthouse balcony & ripped her mask off.
Marlena: (Shocked) KRISTEN!?
Kristen: Meow, Meow Marlena...how's trix?
(FADE OUT)
But yeah, she was to return in a Catwoman suit, which actually, was Eileen's request.
I planned to have people saying--"WHO IS THIS MYSTERIOUS WOMAN SLAPPING BABIES & STEALING PEOPLE'S MAIL IN A CAT SUIT???" That story sounds bigger than two tape days/five episodes.
Something doesn't add up.
Anyway... interesting interview. I give Kola credit for being smart enough to sprinkle in a little truth with her lies to make them seem more believable. If nothing else, she's a fairy-teller with finesse.

For anyone who's interested, here are some of the other stories Kola said she wrote for Days.
- Quote:
-
I planned to bring on Mimi's twin sister Tallulah, a southern prostitute who Hogan Sheffer later brought on as "Willow"--but destroyed the character by not making her a deep south prostitute. I hated his version of the character, because my "Tallulah" was based more on Another World's Rachel Davis and was coming Salem to learn how to read via her twin Mimi (Bonnie had sold one of the girls out of desperation when she'd given birth).
I'd also written Alice Horton into Patch and Kayla's return. I wrote that the city of Salem would give Alice a "100th Birthday" celebration, and at that event, Alice would begin to "pretend" to be Senile/memory loss so that she could help Patch foil the "evil agents" that were in a submarine at the bottom of Lake Salem.
These "submarine people" at the bottom of Lake Salem were also connected to E.J. Wells and would be instrumental in my re-introduction of Susan Banks, and ultimately, Kristen. You see, EJ had his own special "mafia" operating from a submarine under Lake Salem.
In my storyline, Patch was "faking" his amnesia all the time and Alice Horton knew it.
Sean Douglass was going to be involved with that story a lot, helping Patch, Kayla, Celeste and Alice.

-
Meanwhile, we had Billie with a serious Mid-life crisis. The mirror scene where she noticed gray hairs....OH. I couldn't wait to see Julie act that out.
Then there was a "breakdown" after watching this talk show that she taped and kept watching over and over.
There were "fantasy scenes" where Billie fantasized that she, Bo and Hope were all in bed, happily.
But in those scenes, Bo pushed Hope out of the bed and focused on Billie.
That way--we showed Billie's real fixation. It was desperation to be with Bo by any means necessary.
The first two months...Bo and Hope reacted with extreme belligerent disgust towards Billie.
Bo went to Mickey to get custody of Chelsea to save her from such a sexually deviant mother, but Marlena intervened on Billie's behalf.
As time passed, we showed BO start to sort of "weaken." He went to St. Lukes and confessed he'd had a wet dream about Billie and Hope making love to him.
It was getting to him.
Around that same time, Hope got a horrible cramp in her leg and Billie had to "massage" her leg. At first, Hope thought nothing of it--but after massaging her leg, Billie reminded Hope of how it could be sharing Bo.
Billie insisted that the reason they'd been in a triangle so long was that they all had dormant feelings. They were in a sense like family because of the love they shared with Bo.
Billie found a book in Marlena's office..."The Power of Suggestion" and how to insert thoughts into other people's consciousness.
Billie started studying that book and was determined to use that on Hope.
Celeste went to Hope and told her that she was worried, because she'd seen a vision. In the vision, there was a funeral going on and in the coffin...were Hope, Billie & Bo, all in one coffin!
Later at "HERZ" magazine where Carrie, Billie & Celeste worked together...Billie broke down crying and told Carrie & Celeste what she'd been "offering" Bo and Hope and how abnormal and sick she felt. But to her shock, Celeste revealed that she had once had a threesome and loved it.
Carrie expressed curisoity and told Billie not to be ashamed, but to go for her dreams. Just not with Bo and Hope.
Billie ignored Carrie.
Hope found out that Bo was having "periodic dreams" that he was upset about and didn't want to have. He'd gone to Marlena about it and Hope found out through Chelsea.
Billie kept the pressure on Hope, using "Power of Suggestion Technique" and to Hope's shock, she herself began to wonder if it wasn't....futuristic, liberating, just an experience.
One night while Hope was taking a shower....Billie slipped into the shower with Hope. She told Hope, "We are sisters....sisters!" She used her power of suggestion to make Hope comfortable with the two of them showering just as sisters.
Bo came into the bathroom, saw them and had a fit!!
Hope snapped out of it and turned on Billie, threatening to kill her if she didn't stop harrassing them. Hope went to Marlena and told her how bad things were getting.
Marlena tried to reason with Billie, but Billie broke down and told Marlena that having the threesome had become an "obsession" for her. She had to make it happen. Somehow, some way...she was determined that this MUST happen.
Marlena slapped Billie out of her crying fit...but Billie threatened that if things didn't go her way, she planned to kill herself.
Billie paid someone to put a camera in Bo & Hope's bedroom so she could watch them making love.
Billie watched them with intensity and a perverted longing. She vowed that if she didn't get Bo & Hope to see things her way--she was going to committ suicide.
It was a very intense stunning storyline that we felt would make people really talk about the show all across America. Yet it wasn't Bo & Hope as as much as it was "Billie" who was the shocking element.
It was a damned compelling story that people would be shocked and drawn to with erotic suspense.
All three of the actors really wanted to do this story. They were for it.
The shower scene was to last for 3 episodes.
Billie literally would be talking like a small child and convincing Hope that they're just "sisters."
It's when BO arrives & has a fit that Hope snaps out of it and body slams Billie!
But yes, we were going to have Billie "devolve" into this compelling Sexual Psycho...suicidal even.
Also, the "Coffin" vision Celeste had was a premonition.
To end the storyline, we were going to have Billie finally decide that the only way to resolve things...was for all three of them die. And die together.
This was going to be powerful SWEEPS stuff. We had written 6 different ways for the "killing" to happen but never did decide which it would be.
Chelsea shot her mom Billie in the back to stop however way it was, though.
Billie went to an insane asylum & under Marlena's outpatient care would return after haitus for a new story.
- Quote:
-
I had a scene where Will punched Lucas in the face for calling him "fa/g."
Sami's attitude was basically, "Leave my baby alone everyone."
Devon was to be "bisexual" but not practicing. She was also going to be "OUR" Stephanie Foster, cast with a older, "plump" super actress and was to be controlling over Austin and dislike Carrie (who Lucas was after). Devon Wyntergrace also was a shampoo heiress in direct competition with her unknowing son Austin.
Devon and Athena both wanted to get back with Tommy Horton who only had eyes for Maggie.
- Quote:
-
In my bible...Kate & E.J. had sex & Kate had a heartattack during it.
She was in a wheelchair for three months (there was a whole reason why connected to Austin's Shampoo biz, Kate being blackmailed & the need to keep Kate from telling that E.J. was a DiMera & that he had been a "gigolo" in London for Kate's college friend Devon Wyntergrace).
Kate couldn't walk or talk for 3 months. Then when she did regain use of her legs, she pretended she couldn't walk for another 3 months to keep her children's sympathy.
Her "BIG" story was---"Which one of Kate's sons...isn't really her son?"
It turned out that both Austin & Philip were not hers.
- Quote:
-
Devon Wyntergrace turned out to be Austin's real mother---and the college "bisexual" lover of Kate Roberts.
His father was Tommy Horton, not Curtis!
Devon was "obsessive" about Austin and wanted to be his everything. She HATED that all his attention went to Carrie & at the same time, Lucas was moving heaven & earth to steal Carrie from Austin.
Carrie's work building her own feminist magazine, "HERZ" took away from her & Austin's time & allowed Lucas to scheme. But Austin & Carrie didn't break up.
Devon was determined to see them break up and she hired Celeste (Carrie's employee at HERZ) to work for her "under the sly." Celeste didn't want to...but Devon had some dirt on Celeste & was blackmailing her. It was also "hinted" that Celeste seemed to work late & stay over at Devon's "office penthouse" overnight a lot. (WINK)
Devon & Celeste became thick as thieves.
Devon also had a past with E.J. (he had been her 16 year old STUD BOY & bilked her for more than a million dollars back in London). So it was in her best interest to cause E.J. & her son's shampoo company to fall apart---so that she could get Austin to work for HER company.
That was an ongoing thing...the battle between the two Cosmetics/Shampoo companies. Austin vs. his mother.
And BTW, Austin was devastated to learn that Kate wasn't his mom. He just didn't take to Devon, but he was "trying."
VICTOR had been written out of the show (what a mistake that would be!! But we had written Victor out or either he wasn't back yet, I don't remember, but we were getting rid of Kate as well & "phasing" in the new power bitch, Devon).
Devon was a trip!
She was allergic to "pennies", smoked cigarettes, kept a post of Lauren Bacall over her desk and claimed to be a size 14 (but was to be about size 22). She didn't have a preference between men & men. Her great dream had been to be a ballerina & she'd slept with BOTH E.J. & Stefano in her past and loved flaunting that.
She was always to be shown having caviar & wine or smoking a cigarette (and YES, they can do that on the soaps--they just don't.) I was like--SOMEBODY on this damned show should be waving a cigarette around & Ken let me write it in for Devon.
She was to be A ROYAL BITCH.

Personally, I liked everything Koola had to say. Everything I read in this interview and her opinion of Days as a very longtime viewer I agree with alot she has to say.. Her story ideas were seem good and I would like her back. I do not care whateve so called connection to Osama the media printed and the reason Days fired her. I actually read everything the poster in the post talked about her possible past story ideas she didnt mention in the interview. I personally think they are real good! (the Cat suit one was a lil nuts, but I like the overall return of Krisin idea). I would definitely watch those stories. Love the Bo/Hope/Billie story. They could almost do that now with Carly. I think Koola is legit and I really like what I read about her. I wish you success Koola and I also watch AMC (Days is my #1 fave, so if you join that writing team I'd be happy!) :cheer:

KENNY,
(A) There is a big difference between a "STORY BIBLE" and the actual "Literal Breakdown." You posted "bible" ideas for Kristen that were not in the "Literal Breakdown" because we could not get her back for more than 2 days. This is the reason for "Breakdowns" on story boards. I also notice you "edited" the Bo/Hope/Billie storyline and removed the crucial parts explaining Billie's "aging" and desire for "Sharing a Man" --you edited & misrepresented my story by posting it as a 3-some. The story we wrote was very deep and would have been pure addictive fire on screen "acted out."
(B) People have been talking about this incessant hatred you have toward me, it's almost like a fixation. You've gone round to all the boards posting nefarious and smearful b.s. for what reasons I don't know. But your hate is only showing people that you were the one FAKING my name & posts by me on untold message boards in the past. Why you have this obsessive need to take me so seriously and to smear me is beyond comprehension.
(C) For those who heard Marlena being called "grandma Marlena" or "gran" by her grandchildren--exactly which Contract Cycle was that in? Because when I came to the show, Stephen Wyman explicitly instructed me that Deidre's age was never to be talked about (I had told her how gorgeous she was for a woman of 60-something) and that no dialogue was allowed in the scripts referencing her as a Grandma if she was appearing in said scene. I don't know when that started, but I never saw an episode where Will or any of them is calling her "grandma".
Everything you saw on DAYS from April to July of 2006 was my doing. It was me who introduced E.J. Wells (though James Reilly had planned for that happened & had sent me a white slip of paper with just the name. I then wrote the Character introduction, "The Devil Finds Work"). I introduced E.J. Wells, The BLACK GLOVE (which you noticed was dropped the minute I left) and I switched the eggs/sperm for Belle, Shawn, Mimi, Philip.
Beth Milstein took over after I was fired. Then Hogan Sheffer (who I was originally supposed to co-write with) came aboard.

P.S.
I also created the character "PIRU"--E.J.'s childhood best friend, an ASIAN hunk who was E.J.'s partner in crime.
Due to BUDGET concerns--they erased Piru from the Breakdown and transferred him to "YOUNG & THE RESTLESS" where he was named something else and became Victor Newman's Asian co-worker or something. I believe he stayed on that show almost a year. But this is to show you how soaps work. That Asian businessman on "Y&R" had originally been E.J.'s best friend, confidante and thug.

I give you credit for the purposely misspelled words though. Clever.
Meanwhile, isn't it funny how we can go years without a single Kola "fan" popping up until Kola herself comes crawling out of the woodwork? Ahem...
P.S. The next time you want to create a fake name and post this kind of worship, you should probably wait a while before logging back in to your regular name. It makes it less obvious.

Whatever Kenny.
I actually think I know who "Scooby" is and if he's the one who sent me the email this morning, then I thank him.
You're such a liar and a hater, Kenny. You make NOTHING into something at every turn; you knit-pick; distort people's commentary and EDIT things to make people see shit that's not there.
Your Choice Editing of my Story Bible makes you look bad, not me. Because people know damned well I was more detailed & imaginative than that!
So yeah. Nice try Stalker Boy.

Quite simply, you lie. You lie about me, you lie about the actors, you lie about the producers... you lie about everything. And because you insist on giving these interviews and spreading your fairy-tale "truths," I think I have the right to give my feedback. Do I not?
Is it considered smearing someone's name when you're telling the truth about them? I don't know how it's considered stalking when these interviews with you are posted publicly. I don't seek them out. I don't follow you on Twitter. I don't sit outside your bedroom window at night. I simply call you on your bullshit and you don't like it. That's why you're trying to make me look like a crazy person. "Maybe if I make everyone think Kenny's a lunatic they won't listen to anything he has to say." You get an A for effort, but it's not going to work. I know me and the people who matter know me too.
If you don't want people calling you on your bullshit, then stop trying to bullshit people. It's that simple. Go back into the hole you crawled out of and leave the rest of us here to post in peace.
Oh, and just so we're clear... I didn't "fake your name." That's a preposterous claim and you know it just as well as I do. The only thing I'm guilty of is continuing to engage a crazy woman who thrives on the attention. I'm extremely disappointed in my lack of ability to bite my tongue.
